Coast Echoes: From Brooklyn to Unrooted in Tivoli

By EL CONSULADO

EL CONSULADO presented Coast Echoes, an immersive video installation, at The Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn on September 10, 2026, as part of Artists United for Venezuela — NYC Edition.

The benefit brought together music and visual art in support of people affected by earthquakes in Venezuela. In their event announcement, the organizers identified Yo Tengo Un Sueño and World Central Kitchen as the intended beneficiaries of ticket sales and livestream donations. (1)

At The Chocolate Factory, projections extended across adjoining walls, placing coastal views and architectural images around viewers. The collective’s original announcement of Coast Echoes describes moving images in which architecture emerges from a coastal landscape and rises again.

A projection of water and a tilted architectural structure spans the corner of the installation room.

The installation was subsequently shown at Unrooted, a multimedia exhibition curated by Sasha Bianca, at Heermance Farm in Tivoli, New York, on September 26, 2026. The one-day exhibition brought together artists from New York City and the Hudson Valley working across painting, sculpture, photography, short film, digital work, fashion, and spoken word.
