By enrolling as a member, you formally enter the jurisdiction of EL CONSULADO — a contemporary, artist-run consulate operating from and for the cultural diaspora. This is not a state institution, but a symbolic one: a living platform that represents, advocates for, and circulates Venezuelan and diasporic contemporary art.
Your membership constitutes an act of cultural recognition and material support for artists working in displacement, hybridity, and transnational exchange.

What is included in each membership level?
Consular Member ($150/year) includes the 10% Consular Discount, priority access to programs and releases, invitations to artist talks and cultural encounters, one annual member merchandise item, one online art course, and a personalized digital membership card.
Consular Circle ($500/year) includes all Consular Member benefits plus a KIOSKO publication, an enhanced merchandise package, two curated Consular Encounters per year, priority group studio-visit access, and priority access to special editions and publications.
Patron Member ($1,000/year) includes all Consular Circle benefits plus one original work, edition, or artist-made object from the annual Patron Membership Collection (subject to availability), a premium member package, a reserved small-group artist studio encounter, access to all Consular Encounters, and an annual Patron Table.
How do Consular Encounters work?
Consular Encounters are curated cultural experiences organized through the EL CONSULADO network. They may include museum visits with an EL CONSULADO artist or collaborator, gallery walkthroughs with a curator, small-group artist conversations, or other cultural visits. Consular Circle members receive two scheduled encounters per membership year. Patron Members have access to all scheduled encounters where capacity permits, and may bring a guest to selected experiences.
How does the Patron Membership artwork benefit work?
Patron Members receive a work, edition, artist-made object, publication, or KIOSKO piece from the designated annual Patron Membership Collection, subject to availability and the annual selection process. The selection is curated each year from across the EL CONSULADO network. This benefit does not guarantee a specific artwork or allow selection of any work from the KIOSKO collection.
Are all experiences in New York?
Many current in-person experiences — Consular Encounters, studio visits, and the Patron Table — are centered in New York City. EL CONSULADO is developing a distributed network and may offer programs in other locations in the Americas and Europe or online as opportunities develop.
When does my membership start?
Your membership begins immediately upon successful payment and is valid for one year from the purchase date.
How does renewal work?
Memberships are annual subscriptions processed through Stripe. Your membership renews automatically according to the subscription terms presented at checkout. You can manage your subscription through Stripe's customer portal.
Is my membership tax-deductible?
Because membership includes material goods and experiences, the full amount may not be tax-deductible. A portion of your membership fee may qualify as a tax-deductible contribution. You will receive a receipt for your records. Please consult with a tax professional for guidance specific to your situation. EL CONSULADO is a sponsored artist collective with The Performance Zone Inc (dba The Field), a 501(c)(3) organization.
