Helwing Villamizar

Helwing Villamizar is a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist, editor, and developer based in New York City. His work moves between artistic production, publishing, digital systems, and cultural infrastructure, with a focus on how institutions, images, and technologies shape collective memory and diasporic identity. As a founding member of EL CONSULADO, Villamizar leads IT and operations, developing the organization’s digital infrastructure, web presence,and internal systems while supporting curatorial planning, documentation, and public-facing initiatives. His role connects the collective’s artistic vision with the practical tools needed to sustain programs, build community, and expand access to Venezuelan and diasporic contemporary art.
